It has been my observations of this plant in Searcy County, Arkansas that the color can very from very nearly a pure yellow to a deep red orange. When I first started photographing this plant, I searched for only those with flowers of this beautiful red-orange color. Today, I would be more careful to collect as many distinct hues as I could find.
